STORIES WITH SOUL. MADE TO LAST.

Building a Film & Media Ecosystem in the North East of England

Turnover XXV is a filmmaker-led venture developing a bold new creative ecosystem in the North East of England — powered by education and the empowerment of underrepresented talent; inspired by human-led, impact-driven community storytelling that draws on global content; and committed to growing a sustainable creative future rooted in place and designed for global reach.

At Turnover XXV, storytelling doesn’t stop at the screen. We exist to create emotionally resonant, human-led films and to positively impact the stories of those behind them. From talent and crew to regional communities and global audiences, every voice matters. Our promise is to make work that leaves lasting footprints delivering notable impressions: in culture, in people’s lives, and in the creative economy. With care, purpose, and sustainable human impact, we aspire to connect global cultures and communities. Because at TURNOVER, every story we touch TURNS into something lasting.

As part of our mission, we are currently producing a slate of 4 feature films, and building a dedicated studio facility to serve as a regional hub for production, casting, and talent development. We believe in the spirit of Ubuntu, where collaboration is integral to our growth. Therefore, we support like-minded filmmakers by facilitating third-party projects that align with our values, offering infrastructure, creative collaboration, and regional insight.

ABOUT

WHAT WE DO

  • ORIGINAL CONTENT

At the core of Turnover XXV is our commitment to telling bold, emotionally resonant stories rooted in truth and lived experience. We develop and produce original feature films through a rehearsal-first model that prioritises character, emotional depth, authenticity, and performance. Our slate is curated for artistic impact and international reach, grounded in the North East, shaped by creative integrity, and designed to push independent cinema forward. We produce three to five original films each year, focusing on character-led storytelling and strong regional production. Guided by the idea of ‘small worlds, big stories’, we also welcome external projects that align with our values and support new voices, with a focus on underrepresented talent.

  • TURNOVER FREEPORT STUDIOS

Currently in development, the Turnover XXV freeport studio will integrate casting, production, education, and community co-working spaces, creating a dynamic hub for regional talent and international partnerships. Designed to serve both our own productions and external clients, the facility will anchor a resilient creative economy in the North East. It will offer long-term opportunity for local artists, crew, and collaborators. From work placements to workshops, the studio will provide access and support for students, emerging professionals, and those historically excluded from the industry. From grassroots stories to exportable cinema, the studio will be a home for filmmaking with purpose.

  • COLLABORATIVE CONTENT

We work with filmmakers and production partners who share our values, providing access to local infrastructure, casting expertise, creative packaging, and production support. Whether you're developing a project in the region or seeking a meaningful base for co-production, Turnover XXV offers hands-on collaboration and regional insight, a strong local network to help realise your vision. We particularly welcome partnerships that share our commitment to inclusion, access, and the development of new voices across all levels of production. Our goal is to build a platform where like-minded storytellers can thrive.

  • EDUCATION & TALENT DEVELOPMENT

Education is central to our mission. We bridge the gap between emerging talent and on the job practical experience by providing structured access to the industry. Through paid internships, shadowing placements, and international exchange programmes, we create meaningful pathways into film for emerging talent and those historically excluded from it. In partnership with educational organisations, we support students and early-career creatives in developing the practical, artistic, and collaborative skills essential to the evolving screen sector.
